MSc Sport and Exercise Physiology

Course Description

Specialising in sport and exercise physiology provides the scientific backup for training and performance and health and wellness intervention. This innovative master’s programme allows the application of physiological principles via both a research and practitioner based context. You will develop your skills in both research and consultancy allied to an expert appreciation of advanced testing techniques. This course is targeted at students of sport and exercise sciences who wish to develop vocational skills in a truly applied context. It consists of a compulsory element outlining research methods, ethics and practices, advanced methodologies and a research project. This is supplemented by a choice of two optional study modules. Learning and assessment is via a combination of coursework, presentations, research reports and critical reviews.

Entry Requirements

Minimum UK university upper second class honours degree or its equivalent in a discipline associated with Sport and Exercise Physiology. In exceptional circumstances students with a relevant lower second class honours degree may be considered for entry. Students should have studied a substantial amount of sport and exercise physiology and research methods during their undergraduate studies.
