Jonathan West

2230.jpg My experience of the MSc Real Estate course largely lived up to, and in some cases exceeded, my expectations. I found the course content to be in touch with the industry, and the real life case study and viva voce format to be accurate. It has helped me to prepare for the levels of work and RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) that I am expected to achieve in my current employment.

Whilst it is obviously up to the student to be self-disciplined and motivated, I found the vast knowledge, experience and contacts held by all the tutors including John Hockey, Iain Butler, and Robert Couchman, crucial factors in my progression through the course. Their guidance and encouragement, along with the RAU's facilities, helped me maximise my potential and achieve a RICS accredited degree and subsequent employment with a global real estate company.

In hindsight, my progression from enrolling on the course to gaining employment as a development and planning surveyor has definitely exceeded my expectation – in terms of the knowledge and professional confidence I have gained and the small amount of time it has taken. This has largely been down to the opportunities presented to me by the RAU and I would recommend this course to any individual wishing to further their career in this sector.
