About the course

Course description

This programme is for speech and language therapists and other graduates from the UK and Overseas who have a relevant undergraduate degree. It can be studied either part-time or full-time.

The programme is designed for students who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in evidence-based working with a range of clients with developmental speech, language and literacy difficulties. Client groups considered will include those with phonological impairment / disorder; childhood apraxia of speech / developmental verbal dyspraxia; dysarthria. There is a range of clinical observation opportunities with speech and language therapy clients (adults and children), made available through the Department of Human Communication Sciences.

Entry Requirements

At least a 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline such as speech and language therapy/ pathology, linguistics, education, psychology or computer sciences.

A background in phonetics is necessary for some modules and experience of working with clients with speech difficulties is an advantage.

English language requirements:
Overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or equivalent.
