The MSc in Mathematics is intended to bring the student to a level of knowledge and understanding where they can confidently begin to study modern research literature in Mathematics, and can prepare to embark on a research project of their own (under supervison).

The student takes three 10 credit taught modules in each of the first two semesters. These modules are examined during, or at the end of, the semester in which they are given.

The student also completes a 30-credit dissertation. Normally, this is done largely in the summer semester.

September to August (full time) - 1 year or 3 semesters
September to August (part time) - 2 years or 6 semesters
