Student Profile

Maria Mario Stoyneva

"The exemptions from professional qualifications were a focal point for selecting my course. The practical orientation of the teaching modules was very essential to me. One of the things that I was looking at when selecting my university was the campus and its location. Aston has a unique position: to be in walk distance from the city center of the second largest city in the UK and at the same time a close campus where you can get from student residences to lecture halls in less than 5 minutes. This meant for me that I will be able focus on my studies without wasting time on commuting. Further, I firmly believe that if I was not in Birmingham, I would not be able to visit so many different places across Britain. And still London is just in about an hour on the train. The amount of funds invested in the renovation of the campus to make it a nice, welcoming and green place for students impressed me too. The opportunity to become part of well consolidated small community and the student halls were very appealing too. Another reason for choosing Aston was that I could not find another university which supports its students in everything: from finance and housing advice to personal tutors and careers planning help. I believe it is not necessary to mention the outstanding performance in different reputable university rankings which as well influenced my choice."
