What attracted you to choose Surrey and to study your course here?
I studied for my Bachelor’s at the University of Surrey so knew what the University had to offer. The course was exactly what I was looking for; the core modules provided a well-rounded curriculum and the choice of elective modules allowed me to tailor the course to my specific requirements. Aside from the course itself, the University has a great mix of students from across the globe; it was fantastic to meet and share experiences with people from different backgrounds and cultures and adds a lot to your learning experience.
What is your strongest memory of your time at Surrey – what do you picture first when you think of being here?
It’s hard to pick one memory however, if I had to pick one I would say the fantastic friends I made from across the globe.
Additionally the course itself and what I learnt. I especially enjoyed the International Trade and Economics module as well as my fantastic and supportive mentor who I still keep in touch with today.
What is the one thing you would say about Surrey (or your course) to someone who doesn’t know anything about it?
Surrey has the top employment record in the country; the cultural diversity of the university is excellent especially when studying an internationally focused degree. It’s an excellent course for anyone who wants to pursue a career in general management, work for a multi-national or work in an international role. I would highly recommend this University and this course.
What are your top tips for students aspiring to work in your profession?
- Have confidence in yourself
- Take opportunities
- Don’t stop developing yourself; learning new skills or improving on current ones
- A director once told me “If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got”; it’s very true.

Eligibility
If you are a fully self-funded UK, EU or international student who has studied for an undergraduate degree at the University of Surrey campus in Guildford, you may be eligible for a 20 per cent discount on our taught postgraduate masters programme fees.
Application Procedure
The University will identify eligible students, so there is no application form for this scheme.
For eligible students, the required pre-payment (deposit) of tuition fees due for 2021/22 will have to be paid in order to enrol on your programme, as previously detailed to you by the admissions team, then the twenty per cent discount (based on the full fee amount for 2021/22) is deducted from the remaining balance.
This means the tuition fee invoice, which will be emailed to your University email account sometime during October/November 2021 or February 2022 will reflect the actual balance due.
