About 30 per cent of all jobs in the UK’s financial services sector are for marketing and client-facing roles. The MSc in Marketing and Financial Services combines Exeter’s long tradition of excellent research-based finance teaching with a range of innovative marketing modules.
Designed for UK and international students alike, this is a cutting-edge programme not available at other British universities and you will be well placed to obtain a position in marketing, financial services, or at the interface between the two.
You can study the programme in an intensive nine-month format, or over 12 months. With both formats you will acquire the technical knowledge to understand how financial services products work, together with the marketing acumen necessary to compete successfully in this highly competitive sector. The programme is especially appropriate for marketing graduates wanting to develop a career in the marketing and promotion of financial services, as well as business/accounting/ finance graduates wishing to specialise in marketing within financial services.
The core modules in both formats are augmented by specialist optional modules which enable you to build up a knowledge base to suit your individual interests. If studying over nine months, you then select five optional modules. With the 12-month format you will undertake two to three optional modules in addition to the dissertation. It is possible to tailor this programme to match your career goals and achieve Graduate Gateway status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Non-assessed intensive computing training covering Datastream, Thomson Reuters, and other financial databases and software systems, is incorporated into relevant modules.
