About the course
MSc in Global Plant Health
This one-year MSc in Global Plant Health provides the strongest possible grounding for a career devoted to minimising crop losses. By enrolling for this MSc run by The Sainsbury Laboratory, you will understand what makes plant pathogens virulent, the basis of plant immunity, how the next discoveries are made through experimental and computational approaches, what makes global response strategies successful and how to lead such a response.
Entry Requirements
Bachelors degree (minimum 2.1 or equivalent)
Biological Science or equivalent that covers plant and/or microbial sciences.
Entry is on a competitive basis. The Course Directors will assess each application based on the level of knowledge and experience of: plant pathology, plant biology, microbiology, data science such as bioinformatics and computational biology, leadership/management/entrepreneurship, laboratory/research skills, self-directed/independent study and teamwork. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for interview.
Applicants are also required to submit two references - one must be related to the most recent Academic study.

Up to the full cost of a one-year studentship or 10% of the tuition fee depending on nationality
Eligibility
You are eligible for a David Sainsbury Scholarship if you meet these criteria:
You are in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health
And either you are a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list 2021 for entry in the 2022/23 academic year for full funding.

Or you are a national of or domiciled in any other country for a 10% Tuition Fee Scholarship.
Application Procedure
Provided we are satisfied that you meet our Eligibility Criteria we will automatically consider your candidature for a Scholarship on a competitive basis.
No separate application is necessary to be considered for a David Sainsbury Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded based on the application form submitted to UEA to enrol on the MSc in Global Plant Health before the deadline on our website.
