The decision of choosing Data Communication as my MSc course stemmed from my curiosity for the operating mechanism of communication systems and the insights of the communication technology playing an even more vital part in our life in the near future. The University of Sheffield is highly regarded within industry, which attracted me to apply for a place to pursue my postgraduate education.

I enjoyed the teaching and learning process of every module I took on and was blown away by the well-organised teaching schedule and swift assistance both from the professors and the department when any problem was encountered. The staff of the department were most helpful during my time studying at Sheffield. It was always a pleasure to communicate with them. My suggestion for future fellow students is that do not hesitate to ask question and do not leave a problem unsolved. There are many people to turn to when having questions or doubts, including the department support team, your personal tutor and student life mentor allocated to you and usually they will reach out to you before you reach out to them. So, plan ahead and ask away, I am sure you will get a satisfying answer.

So the main reason to choose Sheffield was the course modules. The modules are very diverse and it had everything I needed. So Sheffield was a good choice!

One of the reasons I wanted to come and study in the UK was because of the rich culture, and the brilliant architecture. Sheffield especially is great, hilly and it has beautiful buildings. The people are amazing - they're good to talk to and are very sweet.

I have enjoyed my time here. As an international student I found that we are not alone. You can find every race, every culture - it is quite diverse and I think it's one of the best things about the UK!

The best thing about being a student at the University of Sheffield is that you can get any help you need, from the careers team to mental health services. You just have to ask, there are people who will help you. Working with my tutors was an amazing experience too. All of them listen, very carefully and they guided me properly. I'm actually very thankful to them.

Since I'm doing a master's course, there was just one main project. Right now I'm working on energy efficiency methods for the energy consumption in base stations. So I'm using machine learning and AI to achieve that.

The study spaces here are amazing. They're quite huge, so you can find seats anywhere you want. My favourite place to study was the Diamond.

After graduating I plan to work for a telecom company. The career service has helped me to build my CV and everything. So I'm pretty sure they're gonna help me to get a job.

If someone is looking to study a Masters course, I'd say look at the modules. If you like what you see within an MSc at the University of Sheffield, go for it, because Sheffield won't disappoint you! Everyone is very nice, the course is amazing, and the teaching facilities are amazing!

If you are an international student that is looking to come here for a Masters, I'd recommend that you find a friend before you come here. There are many WhatsApp groups for international students that you can join, so you can find a friend/companion to come here with, share a flat or even just someone to talk to.
