MSc Education - Science and Education

Course Description

This innovative programme offers a broad curriculum for those interested in science and education. The opportunity to explore research across both the physical and natural sciences and within education is to be highly commended. This programme offers science teachers and allied professionals interested in enhancing student learning an excellent basis for professional development, while also proving attractive to others with broad interests.

You will gain a greater understanding of educational research and its relevance to practice in science education as well as the knowledge and confidence needed to implement and evaluate developments, including action research, in your own professional practice.

Introduction to Educational Inquiry
Improving Learning in Science Education
Professional Development in Science Education
Developing Research - Engaged Practice in Science Education

Students studying this programme will be able to take optional units from across the School including the Science Update unit led by specialists from the Faculty of Science.

You will also complete a 15,000-word dissertation.
