Course content
This is for you if... you want to develop an advanced understanding of theoretical and applied microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics.
This course allows you to study economics at an in-depth postgraduate level. You will study a sequence of economics modules that is widely recognised as standard graduate training. It will provide you with the foundations for either a career as an economist or to prepare for PhD study.
The course will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your acquired skills by applying them to a research topic of your choice. You will gain a strong command of analytical techniques, computing and research methods for problem-solving, and develop your critical analysis of economic theories and debates. The course will equip you with advanced research and communication skills, both written and oral.

This MSc is designed for students who have a strong background in economics. It is available as a one year full-time, or two years part-time campus-based course.

This programme will provide you with a unique skill set in economics and data analytics that will make you particularly well-suited to jobs that require a high level of numeracy and analytical skills. You may find employment in such areas as:
