Student Profile(s)

Muhammad Anas

I did my schooling in Pakistan and I finished my undergraduate degree in Doha, Qatar in the Middle East. Now I am here at Koç University where I am doing my Master studies in Chemical and Biological Engineering.

My degree is a thesis based degree which means I have to write a thesis at the end of my study regarding the research that I have been doing for the 2 years of my being here.

I am studying in nonporous materials for energy and environmental applications.

When I was about to graduate from my undergraduate degree I started planning my graduate studies and researching different options, exploring different universities which I could go to. I was looking at different rankings and I came across the ranking of top young universities where Koç University actually ranked quite high and I was really impressed, not only because of its name but it also caught my attention because it is located in Istanbul. It has been my dream to actually travel to Istanbul and this was really a chance for me to live in Istanbul, maybe even to stay. So I decided to explore this university, I looked at the program, the research that goes on here and I was really impressed by the cutting edge research work and the highly qualified faculty, the work is really up to par with the work that is going on in top institutions in Europe and America. I decided to apply here and I was actually accepted with full scholarship and now, I am here for 2 years already and I don't regret a single day.

I realized the institution is very well known with a very good reputation for research work all over the world including Europe, United States of America, even in the Far East. I would say if anyone is looking to go further in their career, if someone is coming for masters and they want to go for PhD, or a PhD student who wants to go for post-doc work, then I think this university can really make it happen and transition your career to a much better place form here as in Europe and America.
