Why choose this course

Our Bridge Engineering MSc is the only masters programme in this area in Europe – and one of the very few around the world. Running since the early 1970s, our fully accredited course provides you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in specialist aspects of bridge engineering, including design of new as well as management of existing bridges.

This MSc will help you pursue an exciting career as a bridge engineer with a consultancy, specialist contractor or local authority.

Our programme is also fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and it puts emphasis on sustainability and resilience in civil engineering infrastructure design and assessment.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree in civil engineering (or other related engineering subjects), or equivalent recognised international degree.

Applicants will be considered on an individual basis, based on strength in specific subjects related to the MSc programme and/or professional experience.

Scholarships

The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 fee waiver. It is open to self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile. The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel.

This award cannot be combined with an early payment discount. Applicants can only receive one scholarship award from the University and will be able to receive the award of the highest value. Applicants in receipt of the International Excellence Award will not be eligible for the alumni discount as the value of this award is higher.

Eligibility

- Be an overseas fee-paying student
- Hold an offer to study a full-time masters programme (excluding MBA)
- Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship)
- Not be from the Surrey International Study Centre (SISC).

Application Procedure

You must have an offer from the University to complete the scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID and offer will not be assessed.
