Fees

For entry in the academic year beginning September 2019, the tuition fees are as follows:

  • MSc (full-time)
  • UK/EU students (per annum): £11,000 
  • International students (per annum): £23,000

Entry requirements

English language

All applicants will need to demonstrate competency in the English language. Applicants who do not already possess a recognised English Language qualification will need to take a recognised test such as IELTS or Pearson and attain the required English Language score:

  • IELTS: overall score 6.5 with no sub-test below 5.5
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): overall score of at least 59, with no sub-test below 51
  • IBT TOEFL: overall score of at least 90, with no sub-test below 22

Pre-sessional English: We also accept successful completion of the 10 week pre-sessional English course run by the University Language Centre to meet our English language requirements.

Please note we do not accept the 6 or 3 week pre-sessional courses to meet our English requirements.

English language test validity

Some English Language test results are only valid for two years. Your English Language test report must be valid on the start date of the course.

Advice to applicants

Please ensure you have all your supporting documents scanned and ready to upload with your online application.

You will need the following:

  1. Copies (not originals) of Degree Certificates and official academic transcripts of previous study. If these are in a language other than English, please provide an official translation. If you have not yet received your final degree result or certificate at the time of application, please provide a copy of your academic transcripts to date which list all grades achieved so far
  2. Copies (not originals) of English Language qualification e.g. IELTS, TOEFL
  3. Two reference letters. These must be from your most recent place of study and/or employment, and must be written on official letter headed paper and must be signed and dated.

Teaching and learning

The Aerospace Engineering MSc  is a full time course which is studied over 12 months and there is one start date each year in September. You will develop advanced technical skills in Aerospace Engineering that will enable you to pursue a career in both general and specialised engineering industries or develop an in depth knowledge for a career in research in industry or academia.

Accrediting organisations

Two highly established organisations, the  Royal Aeronautical Society  and Institution of Mechanical Engineers , have accredited the Aerospace Engineering MSc course under license from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council . This allows satisfactory completion of the Aerospace Engineering MSc to contribute towards the academic requirements for registration with these Institutions as a Chartered Engineer.
