Course Overview

This programme has been developed in response to an emerging healthcare role, namely the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP).  It is designed to equip and enhance the healthcare practitioner with knowledge and skills in the expanding field of advanced practice, especially within secondary care.

The curriculum and competency framework for Advanced Clinical Practitioner training has been developed by The Royal College of Emergency Medicine. This has informed the curriculum content and structure of this programme.

Central to the Advanced Clinical Practitioner educational process is the development of a five year credentialing portfolio, of which a prerequisite is a master's level Advanced Practice award (Royal College of Emergency Medicine, 2015); this programme aims to fulfil this requirement.  The evidence-based credentialing portfolio is not part of the programme and should be completed in partnership with your employing organisation.

What will this course cover?

This programme will provide you with the core skills and knowledge required in advanced practice, as well as exploring both the professional and practice elements essential to work at an advanced level.  Furthermore, it aims to map to the skills and knowledge framework to assist career development.
