An existing professional qualification with registration to General Dental Council
OR

A professional qualification in a related field, for example; dental practice management, dental public health or dental health promotion studies.

Dr Alfred KOLOZSVARI graduated from the Advanced and Specialist Healthcare MSc in 2018.
He currently works at the HighStreet Medical Dental Practice in Medway and is the practice owner.


What attracted you to this programme?
I was interested in getting a greater understanding of advances in dental clinical practice, especially the appropriate evaluation of the existing evidence.

What have you particularly enjoyed so far?
The course was interactive, and as it was part-time, it allowed me to carry on with my clinical duties.

How would you describe the teaching?
The teaching was excellent. The tutors were excellent, with great educational and clinical skills. Those who taught the course had exceptional communication skills and individually supported us. The assignments were varied and helped us delve into areas that we would not have typically focused on.

Did you feel well supported in your studies?
I felt very supported by the whole CPP team from the registration process to my graduation. The other students were friendly, approachable and we bonded well.

What about the facilities on campus?
The campus was easily accessed, has a fantastic library, and has modern facilities. It is very conducive to learning.

How do you think your studies have developed you in your working practice?
The course has given me a different perspective regarding clinic-based practice and has helped me improve myself and the rest of my practice team.

What were you researching for your dissertation? Can you give one specific example of what you are doing differently in your practice as a result of your research?
My dissertation dealt with the training needs of Foundation Dentists regarding the management of ADHD and Autism patients with dental problems. Once the gaps in training were identified, I came up with a training pack that could be used to train them and get them to understand the needs of such patients and how to help the patients feel more comfortable and relaxed while providing dental care.

Do you have any advice for future applicants?
I would strongly recommend applicants to take this course as it helps change how one evaluates evidence-based practice and allows you to grow in areas that make you a more rounded practitioner. Identify an area that is close to your heart when you choose your dissertation topic, as the course allows you to delve into the topic in depth and helps
