Graduate Programs in K-12 School Leadership The Warner School’s graduate programs in K-12 school leadership instill in students a passion to take the initiative and develop skills to inspire and facilitate change in America’s schools. Through our MS, EdD, and certification programs, we prepare students to become skilled, knowledgeable, and creative leaders in elementary and secondary schools and districts, as well as professors and researchers of school administration and leadership at postsecondary institutions. As advocates for thoughtful leadership, graduates understand how to motivate others, make decisions, manage people and processes, and enable individuals to reach their highest potential. They also bring reflective and conceptual thinking skills, as well as a broad array of leadership talents, to the challenge of improving schools. Warner offers students numerous options in the study of K-12 school leadership, ranging from a non-degree program leading to New York State certifications for K-12 school administrators to doctoral programs that combine advanced coursework and research in administration. We offer programs for people seeking NYS leadership certification at the school building level (SBL) and/or school district level (SDL), as well as for already certified administrators who want to learn more and advance their career. Extensive coursework in areas such as leadership, decision-making, and management is common to all programs. In addition, students interested in leadership positions in private schools may specialize in religious or independent school leadership with any of our programs.
