The Electronics and Electrical Engineering Subject Area of the Department of Computer Science and Electronic & Electrical Engineering is seeking to appoint an MRes student to conduct research for Eco-Innovation Cheshire and Warrington Industry Collaboration programme (03R17P01835). This studentship is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
This project will be in collaboration with 1Gen Ltd. The project is based at Thornton Science Park and is associated with the construction and development of a novel Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) used for generating and storing electrical energy. A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or a related discipline. Applicants with a relevant lower second class honours degree may be considered, subject to interview with a strong determination to succeed.
You will be a motivated and dynamic person, with a demonstrable capability to conduct independent research.
Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of proficiency to IELTS 6.5 with minimum score 5.5 in each band or equivalent.
