Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a first class or upper second class honours degree from a UK Higher Education Institution or an overseas qualification rated as equivalent. We are also enthusiastic to hear from applicants who, despite not having the above formal degrees, are advanced arts practitioners from across the theatre and creative industries, please ask us whether your experience as a practitioner might be applicable. The minimum language requirement for a research degree is an IELTS Academic English score of 7.0 overall (minimum of 6.5 in all components). This should normally have been gained within the past 2 years.

For 2021-22, fees for MPhil/PhD students are as follows:

Full-time UK/Republic of Ireland students £5,420
Part-time UK/Republic of Ireland students £2,710

Full-time International students £14,460
Part-time International students £7,230
