About the course
Game projects are now using live orchestra, and video games frequently have both the budget and ambitious scale to support an epic fantasy score, or a thumping action soundtrack. This course is the perfect combination of skill sets for composers with the drive and determination to reach the top in video games music. Your course includes a live orchestral session with a professional film orchestra.
During this comprehensive Master of Fine Arts degree course, you will cover the skills taught in both our Composing for Video Games and Orchestration for Films, Games, and Television degree courses.
Entry Requirements
Ideally, applicants will have an undergraduate degree in music. However, there is an option for those who do not have a degree, taking into account real-world work experience of making music, and non-degree professional development courses. Get in touch for more information.
We expect you to have good knowledge of your Digital Audio Workstation. You need to write music fluently and productively. You should also be able to produce sheet music of your work and have a decent understanding of music theory. We can give you an opinion on your work before you apply - so get in touch!
