Course content

Mental health practitioners are much in demand, both nationally and locally. This course gives you the skills to practice up to Associate Practitioner level in NHS Mental Health Services.

You’ll develop knowledge in a range of therapeutic practices, assessment, ethics, and partnership and recovery working.

You also become familiar with being part of a multidisciplinary team within NHS Mental Health Services, engaging with adults experiencing complex mental health difficulties.

How will I study?

The course equally focuses on theory and practice (including clinical placements).

Teaching and learning take place through a combination of:
-Lectures, workshops and seminars
-Small group sessions
-Clinical supervision of your work with clients

Assessment is through a range of methods – such as essays, journals, presentations and observed assessments – to help you demonstrate your developing skills and knowledge.

HESPAL Scholarship (Higher Education Scholarships Scheme for the Palestinian Territories) (2017)
-Two full fee waivers in conjuction with maintenance support from the British Council
-Application deadline:1 January 2017

USA Friends Scholarships (2017)
-A scholarship of an amount equivalent to $10,000 for nationals or residents of the USA on a one year taught Masters degree course
-Application deadline: 3 April 2017
