Student Profile(s)
Andrew Addison

Exeter has a very diverse campus community, so it has been an adventure making new friends and learning about their varied cultures and backgrounds. It’s easy to get into the city centre with its many attractions and events, while the campus itself is beautiful.
Beyond that, South West England is a very attractive region within the UK. I have seen much of Devon, including Dartmoor, Plymouth, the Jurassic Coast and Ottery St Mary (for Bonfire Night) and other parts of the South West such as Bristol and Bath. I have also made trips to London, Leeds, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Cardiff – which were all easy and cheap to get to – and great to see and tick off my travel list.
I knew the transition from the USA to UK, combined with the shift from undergraduate to postgraduate study would be challenging, but I believe my professors have made this much easier. They appreciate diversity and recognise that I provide different perspectives on matters because of my cultural background, encouraging me to voice my opinions.
I would definitely recommend Exeter to friends and have already begun telling numerous American university students to study abroad here!
