Parmjeet Plummer

Graduated in 2021

I absolutely loved doing the MEd in Educational leadership and Management. I really enjoyed getting to grips with academic study after many years and enjoyed reading original research. The structure of the course was helpful in building up our essay writing skills over the course and developing our understanding of the different aspects of research. By the time I arrived at my dissertation, I felt ready to do my own research and write this up in a manner suitable for Masters level study.
The course was well managed by Beth Kelly, who was an engaging and empathetic tutor. She had some brilliant speakers for the residential days, and although I missed meeting other professionals in person on the residential days, the talks were always thought provoking and stimulating. My supervisor, Lauren, was brilliant; always supportive and helpful. Her belief in me as a learner helped me to develop my research idea significantly.
For me the most important outcome of the course has been the ability to draw on research critically and think strategically, both skills I use in my day job. The course has made me a better leader and, as a result, I feel ready to take the next step in my career.
