The George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science is one of the leading engineering research institutions located in the heart of our nation's capital. Washington, DC

Students studying at GW Engineering have opportunities to gain research experiences on and off campus due to GW’s unique location surrounded by major research funding institutions in the Washington, DC metro area including the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the National Academy of Sciences. Students also have access to state-of-the-art research facilities located on campus in the Science and Engineering Hall, which epitomizes GW’s investment in research infrastructure and facilities that enable innovative research and teaching.

With these facilities at their disposal, GW researchers and students are poised to expand the depth and breadth of human knowledge. Utilizing the building’s specialized labs, including the Class 100 Nanofabrication Clean-room, the three-story high-bay lab featuring a reinforced “strong-wall” and “strong-floor”, and five high resolution imaging suites, faculty members and students possess the capabilities to conduct research on everything from large aerospace structures to the next generation of nanotechnology.

Scholarships

GW Engineering offers a variety of merit-based scholarship awards for on-campus master's degree program students. These awards are tuition discounts that currently range from 25-75%. The awards are valid for the entire duration of the master's degree program as long as the award recipient is in good academic standing. These awards are only allocated to incoming master's degree program students during the admissions process. There is no separate application for students to be considered for scholarships/funding!
