The Master's Degree Programme in International Business and Sales Management is a multidisciplinary two-year programme that combines high-level teaching and research. The programme is designed for both Finnish and international students so that people with different backgrounds come to study and learn together how to operate successfully in challenging business environments.

In our programme we emphasise three core themes: internationalization, business-to-business sales, and cross-cultural communication. The content of the programme rests on the latest theoretical findings and case exercises, group work and collaboration between peer students, staff and B2B companies. Internationally distinguished academics will bring their state-of-the-art knowledge and companies will provide real life case projects to ensure that your education is also practical. A variety of teaching methods guarantees an interesting, challenging and motivating learning environment.

The gained competence opens up numerous career opportunities for example in international business expert, consultant, and sales, account, marketing or strategic management positions at local, national, international and global levels. Additionally, the programme provides tools to operate successfully in an academic field. Students who have successfully completed the programme will be awarded with Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration.

The new master´s programme in International Business and Sales Management adopts cross-disciplinary approach to provide in-depth understanding of the global business environment and firm's approaches to doing business cross borders. This two-year programme is fully taught in English and the curriculum is designed for students who want to gain in-depth knowledge and skills within all parts of international business and sales management.

In the curriculum both academic research and practical case exercises encounter. Therefore the latest research findings will be utilised while providing the techniques and tools that companies use to increase their sales in the global market. A special emphasis of the courses will be on internationalisation, business-to-business sales, and cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills.

Career prospects

The sales area employs a great number of people in industry because today's business environment is changing rapidly. Firms have noticed that new skills are needed to improve and develop their operations, especially in international markets. In response to the increasing importance of international sales management skills and knowledge, this degree will be increasingly valued by employers worldwide.

This programme has been developed to enable you to compete in the expanding and increasingly competitive global labour market. Upon completion of the programme many employment opportunities will be open to you and as a result you have at your disposal tools for a career in interesting and challenging tasks in various roles all over the world (e.g. account manager, sales team manager and sales manager). The programme provides management and leadership skills that are highly valued in all sorts of organisations from private to public sector.

Tuition fees and waivers

Starting from 2017 onward, an annual tuition fee in the Master's Degree Programme International Business and Sales Management for non-EU/EEA students of 8.000 euros will be applied. The tuition fee will remain the same for students throughout the entire time of completing their degrees.  

The University of Eastern Finland will have a substantial number of waivers available for students who are required to pay tuition fees in Master’s degree programmes offered in English. The waivers will be available for the most talented fee-paying students. The scholarship can cover the tuition fee either in full (100%) or partially (80%). The due date for the first instalment is 14 June 2019.
