The MBA General Management is a highly flexible MBA program that can be completed in either full-time or part-time format. While forming a core group with your fellow part-time MBA students, you will also enjoy joint classes with full-time MBA students. This provides you with the opportunity to study in an even more diverse environment, and enables you to expand your business and career network even further.

The MBA curriculum is based on three pillars: Expert Business Knowledge courses provide you with a strong foundation of expertise in core business and management areas. By selecting 2 out of 4 elective courses, you further deepen your knowledge in these particular fields. The MBS Flagship Course is comprised of a one-of-a-kind combination of courses based on Munich Business School’s core values – making the MBA General Management a truly unique experience. An International Week at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy, and an MBS Startup Week round off the MBS Flagship Module. Executive Skills courses are aimed to support you in your personality and leadership development, and provide you with all the necessary information to start, or continue, your professional career in Germany, or other parts of Europe.

Studying at MBS

As with all study programs at Munich Business School (MBS), small and highly diverse workgroups as well as an intimate study and discussion atmosphere create the optimal learning environment. This allows our students to interact closely and collaborate productively with their class mates and lecturers. Current business and management topics in a well-rounded curriculum full of real-life applications are taught by a dedicated faculty using modern teaching methods and an interdisciplinary approach.

Program Structure

The MBA General Management is divided into three terms and time for the Master Thesis over a period of 24 months. The program covers topics from three major General Management modules: Business & Management Knowledge, Executive & Leadership Skills, and International Business Environment.

Personal Development

In order to prepare for future leadership tasks, and to focus on their personal development, MBA students are given the opportunity to intensively deal with their personal understanding of leadership. They draw up a personal development plan, and thus work specifically towards the fulfilment of their individual, interdisciplinary competence and qualification goals.

MBA students are also offered professional business coaching sessions, and the opportunity to participate in selected offers from Munich Business School’s Executive Development program. In this way, tailor-made personality development is promoted, and students are equipped with important “future skills”.

Elective Courses

Besides the imparting of general management knowledge and skills, the MBA General Management part-time also covers a number of electives providing a deeper understanding of a particular field. During your studies, you combine a total of two electives, selecting one specialized course per term. Choices are: "Business in Germany" or "Global Supply Chain Management" in Semester 2 (March-July) and "Management in Emerging Markets" or "Business Law" in Semester 3 (September-January).

Though basic business principles apply everywhere, every international market is shaped by its own political, cultural, and historical landscapes. A good share of your course work is therefore dedicated to exploring international markets, international business methods, and specific economies that are currently impacting global business.

You may choose one out of three international focuses:

  • Business in Germany & Europe
  • Business in Latin America
  • Business in China

In addition, you may improve your foreign language skills by participating in an optional language class, choosing between German, Spanish, and Chinese.

As one of Europe’s most international and culturally diverse cities, Munich is a study location combining global business hustle with a truly intercultural atmosphere. As an MBA student at Munich Business School, you will benefit from the variety of opportunities offered by this city. In addition to that, Milan – another global hotspot – is visited during the International Week of the program.

Delivery Mode

As a real part-time program, all courses of the MBA General Management are held bi-weekly on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, thus ensuring that our students‘ careers actually benefit from their choice to study – not suffer from it. Each term begins with a so-called Intensive Week, kick-starting the program with a whole week of courses and seminars.

A Typical MBA Class at MBS
