About the course
Preserving the security of computers, connected devices and their data becomes more important every year. Mathematics plays a key role in both preventing and modelling security breaches, with many cybersecurity tools and algorithms being based on mathematical ideas.
This postgraduate programme gives you a rigorous introduction to the underpinning theories in mathematics and will equip you with modern data science, analytical and computational tools to implement them.
Entry Requirements
An upper second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in mathematics or statistics. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate strong skills in probability and statistics, equivalent to the University of Bristol School of Mathematics Probability 2 and Statistics 2 units. Applicants would also benefit from having a basic understanding of one or more programming languages (eg R, Python or C). Professional experience may be taken into consideration alongside qualifications.
