Masters in International Tourism (MA)

About the course

The programme is designed to prepare graduates for rewarding careers in tourism management, tourism development, tourism planning and policy analysis.

The MA in International Tourism is a one-year, full-time programme. Lectures & exams are delivered over two semesters (September-May), plus a further period of 4 months for completion of the research dissertation. Normally the deadline for submission of dissertation is mid-August.

Part-time option: part-time students are expected to complete the MA programme over a two-year period with lectures being delivered one day per week (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 09h00-18h00 in each semester.

Minimum 2:2 honours primary degree from a variety of disciplines including Economics, Geography, Sociology, Business Studies, Hotel Management, Languages, History, Anthropology, Marketing and others

Kemmy Business School Scholarships Terms & Conditions
The Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick is offering at least 10 taught postgraduate scholarships to potential EU applicants for the 2020/2021 academic year. The successful candidates will receive the scholarship in the form of a reduced fee paid directly to the fees office.
Criteria & Eligibility
The scholarships will be awarded to EU applicants who have applied on-line to the University of Limerick for a full-time taught postgraduate programme for the 2020/21 academic year, by 5th June 2020, 5pm. Applicants who have already applied on-line are eligible to apply.
Applicants should have a
 First class honours primary degree (1.1) (Level 8 – NQAI) or
 Second Class Honours Grade1 (2h1) primary degree (Level 8 – NQAI)
{In exceptional cases Second Class Honours Grade 2 (2h2) primary degree (Level 8 – NQAI) will be considered}
Applicants must also
 Satisfy the entry requirements for the University of Limerick taught postgraduate programme they intend to undertake and have applied online for this programme at https://www.ul.ie/ by 5pm on the 5th June 2020.
Ineligibility
The scholarships are not open to those who have already commenced a postgraduate programme. Applicants for Research Masters programmes are not eligible. Students interested in research programmes should consult the UL webpage https://www.ul.ie/ for information on research scholarships. The scholarship may not be used in conjunction with any additional University of Limerick scholarship, fee waiver or other direct or indirect financial assistance programme.
Value of the Scholarship
KBS scholarships (available across all KBS taught postgraduate programmes) are valued at €2,000 each. The successful applicant will receive the scholarship in the form of reduced fees.
Assessment
The Scholarship will be allocated by a Kemmy Business School Assessment Panel, on the basis of a
supporting statement of your suitability for the chosen programme and eligibility.

The scholarships will be awarded to EU applicants who have applied on-line (https://www.ul.ie/gps/taught-programmes to the University of Limerick for a full-time taught postgraduate programme for the 2019/20 academic year, by 7th June 2018, 5pm. Applicants who have already applied on-line are eligible to apply.

Application Procedure

Application Process
 Please complete the online application form and email any relevant supporting
documentation to postgraduate admissions before 17h00 on the 5th June 2020.
 The successful applicants will be notified in late June. The applicant will not receive a payment from the University of
Limerick. The scholarship will be deducted from the course fee at the start of Autumn
semester.
