About this course
The history of the School of Bioengineering of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) originated from the earliest establishment of antibiotic manufacturing engineering in China in 1955. In 1972 the Department of Biology of Shanghai University of Science and Technology (USST) was transferred to our school. In 1980 the specialty of antibiotics was renamed Biochemical Engineering. In 1982 the Department of Biochemical Engineering was established. In 1986 it enrolled students in food engineering. In 1996 the School of Bioengineering was established.
The School has nine master programs: Biochemistry Engineering, Fermentation Engineering, Biochemistry and Molecule Biology, Food science and Technology, Microbiology, Microbiology and Biochemistry Medicine, Marine
