In an ever changing world there has never been a better time to fully appreciate all that public health has to offer. Public health issues, challenges and impacts make the news every day in most countries globally. There are now so many challenges you can make a difference in understanding, researching and challenging current behaviours, pre-conceptions and policies as a researcher and practitioner. Your research could make the difference in longevity of human beings, quality of life, and gaining real understanding of fundamental issues which we cannot ignore.

You study essential aspects to public health which include epidemiology, statistics, qualitative research, public health, health informatics, health economics, nutrition and clinical trials. You study part time over two years across six semesters with a final research project with electives to ensure the MPH is aligned to your specific interests and career aspirations.

The Master of Public Health Online is fully flexible to fit around your current work and life. There is also an on campus delivery of the programme if you want to study in Scotland in Aberdeen City. The online programme covers the essential aspects to public health practice and it is brought to you from a fully established area of study and research at University of Aberdeen. This programme is ideally suited to UK and international students and allows you to cover main core areas and select areas of interest to you. This gives you a wide range of disciplines and interests to draw upon in your future career. You study at one the ancient universities in the UK where medical science has been taught since the Middle Ages but from a live hospital and consultancy setting at Foresterhill in Aberdeen. It is in this area of Aberdeen that major and profound health innovations have been discovered such as Insulin, the MRI scanner and many challenges to improve public health research and practice. You may want to go into the practice of public health research either in a central health environment, as a consultant or researcher or you may wish to progress your studies to doctorate level.
