Course content

The University of Sydney is Australia's premier research university, and the Faculty of Education and Social Work is a world-class research centre in the humanities, human services and related fields offering an outstanding range of innovative research courses.

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) can be completed over two years full-time, or four years part-time. Candidates undertake supervised research, culminating in a thesis of 30,000-40,000 words which makes a substantially original contribution to the subject concerned. MPhilEd students complete a probationary year, at the end of which they produce an extended research plan. You will also undertake advanced coursework, as recommended by your research supervisor.
