Master of Medicine (Psychiatry)

Course Description

The Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) will help you develop a sophisticated understanding of the neuro-scientific basis of psychiatry and expertise in critical appraisal and research design.

It is ideal for trainee or current psychiatrists who wish to upgrade their knowledge or skills.

You will learn how to translate research into clinical practice and develop interdisciplinary clinical and research professional networks.

Facilitated by experts, sessions will be presented in small groups and supported by online learning technology.

The course includes an elective capstone experience in an area of advanced study. You can carry out a research project to
support a RANZCP scholarly project, or choose a coursework elective.

It is accredited as a Formal Education Course (FEC) for psychiatry trainees.

The Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) is run by the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Research Institute (BMRI), an industry leader in the investigation and treatment of diseases of the brain and mind.
