The Master of Laws (LLM) program is designed to equip practising lawyers and law graduates with an advanced understanding of the law to meet the challenges of the dynamic workplace. The flexible course curriculum of the Master of Laws (LLM) gives you the freedom to personalise your education – you can choose a specialised area of the law or broaden your knowledge across a diverse range of subjects including commercial law, government regulation, resources law and a range of public and private international law areas.

The Master of Laws (LLM) provides a diverse range of subjects for law graduates to choose from and law graduates can choose to either specialise or choose a variety of subjects to broaden their legal expertise:

Broaden your legal knowledge across diverse subjects: The Masters of Law (LLM) postgraduate degree offers a cross section of units such as: international commercial arbitration; government accountability; family law; property law and employment law. Gain specialised knowledge of the resources sector: For those law-graduates who seek to specialise their legal knowledge of the resources sector, the Faculty of Law offers a distinct advantage through the Centre for Mining Energy and Natural Resources Law (CMENRL) - Master of Laws (LLM) students can advantageously access specialised units over the course of their degree through the Centre.

The Centre has accumulated over two decades worth of specialised knowledge and research of the legal issues arising within the mining, energy and natural resources sectors of the Western Australian economy – of which Perth is one of the most active and dynamic environments in the world. The teaching team at the Centre is a combination of esteemed academics and industry professionals who teach work ready courses such as: local and global oil and gas law, mineral resources investment, climate change law, corporate governance and more.
