Master of Finance (Professional)

About This Masters Degree

Course Description

About the program
Finance is concerned with how individuals, firms, financial institutions and governments allocate and manage resources within domestic and international economies. Finance professionals focus on how securities and commodities are developed, exchanged, and priced. More recently, finance as a discipline has widened to include how financial decisions are influenced by investor psychology, and how the formation of prices in market microstructures are impacted by securities markets’ rules and regulations.

According to the Financial Times, a Master of Finance is the “must-have degree” for those seeking professional careers in specialist finance roles, including investment banking and asset management. Bond's Master of Finance (Professional) is a quantitatively rigorous program that will give you a strong understanding of financial principles and their application to corporate financial policy, international financial markets, derivative assets and their associated markets, plus a strong understanding of specialised aspects of the financial industry. You will benefit from close interaction with Bond’s global finance academics and exposure to our Macquarie Trading Room.

Bond's Master of Finance (Professional) is recognised by the CFA Institute, Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).

The professional program follows the same structure as the Master of Finance program with an additional 20-week Work Integrated Learning component. Work Integrated Learning is a 45 credit point subject designed to promote and support learning, personal development and professional practice. The subject focuses on developing self-analysis and reflective learning skills, and applying theoretical solutions for practical workplace problems.
