Recent advances in digital media have seen many changes in workplaces, creative practices and everyday life. The Master of Digital Communication and Culture equips graduates with a critical awareness of the latest developments in internet platforms, social media, research tools, digital audiences, mobile media, online governance, cross-media creativity and games. Informed by critical humanities literature in digital cultures, the core of the course is uniquely focused on cultural practices and new media change.
When you enrol in this course, you can take four or five of the core Digital Cultures units of study – Digital Research and Publishing; Internet Cultures and Governance; New Media Audiences; Network Society and Mobile Media and Games. Beyond the core units, there are many ways that you can customise your learning experience by selecting from a wide range of relevant electives from Arts and Social Sciences, Sydney College of the Arts, Interactive Design and Electronic Arts and IT.
The graduate diploma and graduate certificate both provide shorter avenues to update and extend an understanding of digital media, or to explore new career directions.
