Make informatics your business

Accredited by the Australian Computer Society, our Master of Business Informatics is a two-year program that prepares you for your participation in the ‘knowledge economy’. The course addresses key areas pertinent for IT professionals, including business analysts, who mediate between organisational units and the technologies that support them.

Fine-tune your qualifications with electives in the areas of accounting, HR, strategic management, data analytics or information sciences and upon graduation, choose from a variety of specialised roles, including as a program analyst, system architect or information systems manager.

Study a Master of Business Informatics at UC and you will:

  • demonstrate an understanding of theoretical concepts and develop an appropriate set of data models for relational database implementation
  • undertake a human-computer interaction design project
  • critically analyse complex business processes, derive advanced system models appropriately and use international standard systems description paradigms and languages
  • prepare and critically evaluate the various documents associated with project planning, monitoring, review and quality
  • use SPSS and gain key knowledge of key data and national and international indicators from Australia and other Asia-Pacific countries.

Work integrated learning

In this course, you will undertake a specialised research project as part of the Faculty of Business, Government & Law’s commitment to supporting work integrated learning, which will enhance your employability and ensure you’re armed with the right mix of skills and knowledge to take a super-confident leap into your future career.

Professional Accreditation

This course is accredited by the professional body, the Australian Computer Society, at the Professional level (subject to the ACS accreditation processes in 2015).
