Student Profile(s)

Maria Gamez

My name is Maria Gamez, I’m from Colombia. I’m currently studying to become a Master in Business Economics. It’s been challenging, the classes can be hard but at the same time it’s very rewarding. You learn so much throughout the year.

When I came to visit the University of Antwerp last year, I fell in love right away. The campus is really charming. All the classes are in the same campus so that makes it easy to move around. The professors have been very welcoming to all of the international students. They really make an effort when it comes to the language barrier, which is important for us to succeed.

The city of Antwerp itself has stolen my heart. The architecture, the Grote Markt, Groenplaats, Central Station,… it’s beautiful. As soon as you arrive in the train station you know it’s going to be a wonderful year.
