Managing People and Processes: You’ll look at people and operational functions across complex organisations, looking at management styles, leadership and change management. Through case study scenarios you’ll analyse, evaluate, and look at creative, innovative ways to improve business operations. You’ll appraise and implement business strategies, identify and evaluating frameworks and techniques to develop strategies.
Marketing Management: You’ll develop an understanding of the critical factors which influence and determine marketing environments. You’ll also look at ethics and social responsibility in marketing, social marketing, consumer needs, market segmentation, targeting, and positioning.
Managing Financial Performance: You’ll critically evaluate the financial element of business organisations that inform business decision making, looks at the application of key principles of financial accounting, and management accounting which guides financial investment decisions. This module will provide you with the confidence to discuss financial decision-making and performance.
Strategic Management: You will gain a strong understanding of the key concepts of business models, paradigms, strategic planning, and strategic management, working on case study scenarios to understand the internal and external influences of business sector environments.
Contemporary Issues in Global Business: In this module you’ll identify and evaluate modern politico-economic business structures as they determine global business activity, undertake research to critically examine contemporary issues facing global industries, and critically evaluate the policies and protocols associated with global business.
Leadership and Change: You’ll develop critical knowledge of leadership and change management within the principles of ethics, sustainability and change, and critique leadership and change initiatives in business sectors.
Research Methods: This module will provide you with the key skills to be able to distinguish and apply qualitative, quantitative and mix method research methodologies in a business and change management context.
Research Project: The course culminates in an independent research project based on your research. It will be conducted in an area of interest to you using the research skills acquired throughout the course. You will receive support from a supervisor throughout the project phase of your course.
Assessment is through a range of methods, including online discussions, video presentations, and short answer questions, along with essays, reports, and time constrained assessments.
