About the course

If you’re working towards becoming a registered psychologist and have completed your fourth year, this course combines a Masters-level accreditation with a PhD comprised of extensive research. If you are already working as a registered psychologist you’ll gain specialist skills in clinical practice combined with extensive research.

Clinical psychology focuses on a strict scientist-practitioner model that emphasises a systematic problem-solving approach that will prepare you with the skills you need for clinical casework. You’ll learn how to apply your skills and knowledge in clinical psychology and work with individuals and groups across the lifespan. In addition, the PhD will allow you to build skills in written and oral communication, you’ll learn how to manage a large project

Entry Requirements

Entry to the program is very competitive and to be accepted into the course applicants must have successfully completed a four year, or three year plus a fourth year, APAC-accredited sequence in psychology, within the last 10 years, with an upper second class Honours (2A) or equivalent overall mark.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a provisional psychologist. An exception to this may be made for currently registered psychologists who can demonstrate current compliance with Registration Board CPD requirements.
