The Master of Accounting (Professional) program at Bond University gives those with undergraduate credentials in fields other than accounting an opportunity to gain a professional accounting qualification. In addition, you will develop self-analysis and reflective learning skills and apply theoretical solutions for practical workplace problems. The professional program follows the same structure as the Master of Accounting program with an additional 20-week professional portfolio component to ensure you get real-world experience before you graduate. Every student who achieves a GPA of 2.0 by their penultimate semester has the opportunity to complete an internship as part of this program.
You will also have the opportunity to gain a Bloomberg certification during your degree and unlock your potential for more job opportunities in the global market. Bond is the only university in Australia with 40 Bloomberg terminals, providing unparalleled access to live financial data. Any completed relatable undergraduate program will also gain you up to 40 credit points towards the Master of Accounting program.
Recognised internationally, this program is professionally accredited by CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ), Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
As part of your degree, all Bond students are given the opportunity to participate in the new Transformer program. This fee-free, co-curricular program is designed to expand your entrepreneurial skills, dive deep into big picture thinking and embrace creative problem solving so you can make a real difference in the community, your own business or an existing one. The Master of Accounting (Professional) program is a specialist program for students interested in pursuing a professional accounting qualification. It incorporates the traditional Master of Accounting program designed to provide an opportunity for students with undergraduate training in other fields to gain a professional accounting qualification. The professional program follows the same structure as the Master of Accounting program with an additional 20-week Professional component. The MAcc (Prof) offers a firm academic grounding in the accounting discipline and offers a hands-on appreciation of the industry. The program is a powerful amalgam of foundational accounting skills, decision-making, leadership and financial literacy with the ability to advise business on financial issues
Accounting and financial literacy skills are needed by every business in the world. It is a globally recognised profession with a broad range of roles, often leading to careers in senior management. Master of Accounting (Professional) graduates are eligible for employment in professional accounting practices (public accounting or chartered accountants), corporations, the public sector and not-for-profit organisations. The degree is also useful to managers who are exposed to accounting on a day-to-day basis.
It is recommended that you become an affiliate of a professional body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ). These groups provide valuable opportunities to network with other professionals in the industry.
Master of Accounting (Professional) students must complete the following twelve (12) subjects:

*Please note that the Professional Portfolio or Professional Development subject is a 20-week, 45-credit point subject and is taken in the last semester of the program once all other coursework subjects have been completed. The Career Development Centre will provide assistance in choosing the relevant professional subject prior to your last semester.
