Entry Requirements

To obtain the degree “Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, students must pass all the courses over the two years.
We also envisage that some students might want to join for year one alone. This means that students can join for only Year 1 or for Year 2.
Students need to have: a BA degree with 180 ECTS in any discipline subject area and a demonstrated entrepreneurial motivation. The one year option would be appropriate for people who intend to start a business and want to learn the core theories as well as the practical skills involved. More on our webpage.

Due to the fact that the course consists of a highly diversified and international group, all participants, including me, are benefiting from the cultural and personal experiences. The working atmosphere in such a group is on the one hand very hard but therefore also increasing your cultural and team working skills an a very high level. The international Professors in the course are all experts in their fields and many of them are also able to share some practical knowledge with the students as most of them are Entrepreneurs and not just purely academics, which make the theory by far more valid in terms of applicable advice.
Why did you choose the University of Luxembourg for performing your master studies?
The University offered a unique possibility for me by combining the studies of Entrepreneurship and innovation with a scholarship and a Internship. This also leads to practical experience and the possibility to get in close contact with the industry and the key players in the field of studies

Which specialization did you choose? Why?
I chose to specialize in entrepreneurship, mainly because I am interested in starting my own business in the future. I think this course will prepare me for many of the different aspects of running a company and giving me the possibility to get in touch with important information about organizations’ and the change to establish a network in this particular sector.

How do you finance your studies?
I am partially financed by my parents and partially financed by my mentor company, which also compensates for my study fees.

Which hobbies do you practice in Luxembourg?
In the summer Luxembourg invites to visit its parks or go to one of the numerous outdoor cafes and bars, just sit done and relax with a class of wine. Of course I also like to meet with my course mates going out and visiting the great region.

Will you stay in Luxembourg?
Well most probably yes for a certain amount of time. I consider it a very good place to get a career started.

Which advices could you give new students?
First of all, find a place to stay in good time, its really tough and can easily get rather expensive. Think about living cost and check your budget. Consider taking a French course up front if you don’t speak the language.

The small international group of students represents the perfect condition for an intense cultural exchange. I particularly like the group works in the program as they not only have a practical relevance but also provide a great exercise of how to work in a team composed of people with different cultural backgrounds.

The professors are really experts in their field. Their teaching approach comprises of a combination between theoretical and practical knowledge to prepare you best for your entrepreneurial endeavour.

The program offers the opportunity to meet a lot of people in Luxembourg and create contacts with the mentor companies.

Why did you choose the University of Luxembourg for performing your master studies?

I liked the masters program because it is an intense one-year program in English about entrepreneurship. It is also closely linked to various companies in Luxembourg, providing the opportunity to apply the learned in class in a practical experience during the studies.

Which specialization did you choose? Why?

I chose the ICT track, because I believe it is crucial to know more about Information and communications technology in the times we are living in. A lot of today’s entrepreneurial ideas come from this sector and I wanted to learn more about it and see how the evolvements in this industry could be used in “traditional” businesses.

Which hobbies do you practice in Luxembourg?

Luxembourg is a great place to go hiking or practice any outdoor sports. I like going jogging in Luxembourg’s beautiful parks.

There are various bars and cafes where you can enjoy a glass of wine and meet up with friends.

Will you stay in Luxembourg?

Yes, I believe I will. This small country in the heart of Europe offers a lot of opportunities and there are still a lot of things to be explored in this country. I am sure that soon Luxembourg will become a more exciting place to be.

Which advices could you give new students?

Make sure you know exactly why you want to follow this masters program – be it to start a new business, to improve an existing one or just to change your carrier. This will help you get the most out of the program. Plan ahead with accommodation and budget.
