Students are required to carry out independent research and prepare a thesis on a significant business issue, supervised by a senior member of the School.
You may select your thesis area from within any of the academic disciplines of Smurfit School. Your research topic is identified in consultation with your research supervisor and your MComm degree is awarded following satisfactory completion of your thesis.
In addition to carrying out research, you are encouraged to take courses in methods of business research and those allied to your research studies offered by several of Smurfit School’s postgraduate programmes. You may be expected to make presentations to advanced research seminars run in conjunction with the Doctoral programme.
