There are taught modules in the autumn and spring terms, and dissertation work in the summer term.

On our Masters courses, you’ll complete a substantial MSc project, which is often practical as well as theoretical. The project is designed for you to excel in your personal and professional development and to consolidate the material covered in your modules. It demands individual responsibility and exposes you to issues of: -Project management -Resourcing -Planning -Scheduling -Documentation and communication -Critical awareness and creative thinking
In Informatics, you are encouraged to seek a project with a commercial or industrial flavour. Finding an industrial sponsor or host is fine, though you will still need an academic supervisor.

The HESPAL Scholarship is a joint award offered by the British Council and the University of Sussex which is centred on building capacity in Palestinian universities by providing young Palestinian academics with an English Masters course in a subject that will benefit their home institution and hence the Palestinian Territories.The University of Sussex and the British Council are committed to providing two scholarships per year. Be a national or permanent resident of the United States of America.Have applied for and been offered a place on a full time Postgraduate Taught degree at the University of Sussex (MA, MSc, LLM, Dip Grad).Have been assessed as paying overseas fees.Remain on the programme for which the scholarship is offered.
A lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above. Applicants should have an academic background with substantial computing, information technology, science, technology or business-related content. Mature applicants with relevant experience will also be considered. English language requirements - Standard level (IELTS 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each section).
