If you work as a manager in health or social care, then why not take your skills to the next level with a PgD? You'll learn valuable knowledge and skills about managing, leading or supervising at a strategic level, helping you improve your standing within your organisation. We focus on conceptualising underpinning theories and principles with management and leadership practices within your own work setting, allowing you to gain an active understanding of how your own workplace can benefit from your studies. Take our masters level programme and show that you have the skills to be an expert manager within your environment.
You will need to complete an induction prior to commencement of your first module. We have a comprehensive online induction package to welcome you to both the university and your programme of study; alternatively classroom-based induction days take place at our Lancaster and Carlisle campuses and are usually scheduled for the first week of each semester.
We offer a distinctive masters programme that provides the chance to critically review, consolidate and extend knowledge and application of a range of management and leadership theories and skill. By building on key skills, you'll demonstrate a mastery in the application of innovative approaches to effective collaborative and partnership working. We encourage the development of intellectual, analytical and problems solving skills to support the advancement of mature and independent decision making and judgement.
You can top-up your postgraduate Diploma to MSc Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care, with the completion of a 60 credit dissertation.
