Management and Digital Business MSc

With an undergraduate degree in Business Studies and a full-time job in higher education, Amber decided to embark on a Masters degree to boost her career.

“I really enjoyed my undergraduate degree at LJMU so Masters study seemed like a natural progression for me, particularly as I need a postgraduate qualification to progress in my current role. I really think that a Masters makes you stand out from the crowd and that is key if you want to make an impact in the workplace.

The course covers all the different areas of business, developing a fully-rounded view of your subject. We’ve studied finance, management competencies and research methods to name just a few. The step up from the last year of undergraduate study is quite natural too, nothing like as hard as I had expected.

As I work full-time I sometimes struggle to fit in additional study groups but the Business School have been so supportive, providing evening appointments with tutors and offering deadline extensions due to my dyslexia and dyspraxia. Our tutors want us to succeed so they are very flexible.

I originally chose to study in Liverpool because it is a very safe, student-focussed city with loads of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and a full calendar of events throughout the year. I make the most of the discounted theatre tickets we get on a regular basis and I simply love the shopping here. All in all, I couldn’t have chosen a better city or a better university.”
