About the course

MSc Machine Intelligence builds on the concepts of artificial intelligence and machine learning by creating new systems that more directly provide intelligence than the currently existing digital systems. By developing new processing methods and data representations the aim is to establish the next big step in computing.

The programme considers current technologies (e.g. AlphaZero, AlphaGo, IBM Watson, Siri, Alexa), what is behind them, and then moves beyond them, by equipping learners with the necessary open-minded thinking to effectively analyse the needs for future technologies and the ability to create and shape them.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have:

An appropriate recognised Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (electronics, computing, networking, electrical and electronic engineering, robotics, cybernetics, intelligent systems or an equivalent qualification.

Students without a first degree, but with professional and vocational experience (e.g. relevant industrial experience, Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer status) may be considered if they demonstrate the potential to succeed on the programme.
