A good honours degree in sociology or a related social science discipline, or substantial experience in social or political research or a relevant profession.
All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.

I've learnt a lot from the way staff informally discuss their research. Everyone is really open. They are always interested in what I am researching and suggest new avenues that I could explore.
The course expanded my faculties and critical thinking, it challenged the way that I approached social thought and research. Learning from, and engaging with, leading academics proved invaluable and the weekly staff-student seminars kept me in touch with a wide range of different research.
