Course content

Student numbers are kept small on this programme so as to facilitate plenty of close attention and dialogue with faculty, all of whom are research-active experts in areas such as women's writing, poetry, writing in Ireland during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and cultural encounters with the new worlds and old worlds, America and the East. The course is structured to bring you from a general familiarity with the period to more specialised research-focussed seminars, and we bring our students to the rare books libraries of Dublin to teach you specialist study skills in reading early printed books and manuscripts.
