The Stationers' Foundation University Bursary Scheme

If you hold an unconditional or conditional offer for our MA Publishing course, you might be eligible to apply for this bursary.

The Stationers’ Foundation is the charitable arm of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers. It supports a wide range of educational initiatives from primary through to postgraduate education. It is now launching a new university bursary scheme aimed at students who plan to study on postgraduate courses which reflect the industry sectors which the Stationers’ Company specifically aims to support. Masters courses at six universities have been selected for this scheme.
Successful students will each receive a bursary of £6,000 and will be offered the opportunity to receive mentoring during the
period of their studies from an appropriate Stationer taking into account the specific interests of the student.
On successful completion of the Masters programme the award winners will be presented with the Freedom of the Stationers’
Company and it is expected that they will participate in the life of the company. Dispensation for payment of the annual
membership fee will be given up to the age of 30.

Eligibility

You must:

- normally be under 25 on 1 September of the start year of the course*
- resident in the UK and classified as paying UK tuition fees
- begin their course in September of the year the award is made
- apply to the course through the normal application process
- be offered a place and accept that offer by July of the same year
- not be in receipt of another major award (e.g. an AHRC award)
- be available for interview at Stationers' Hall in London in June of the same year

Application
The application form must be supported by two references, one academic and one personal from someone of standing
who can support the financial statements made in the application.
Short-listing will take place based on the following criteria:
• Academic merit
• Financial need
• The quality of the application
