About the course

Fewer people are trained orchestrators than trained composers. This course takes you from first sketch through sampled mock-up, then onto the final recording with a live orchestral session, giving you all the knowledge you need to turn a musical idea into a professionally recorded live orchestral score.

Entry Requirements

Ideally, applicants will have an undergraduate degree in music. However, there is an option for those who do not have a degree, taking into account real-world work experience of making music, and non-degree professional development courses. Get in touch for more information.

We expect you to have good knowledge of your Digital Audio Workstation. You need to write music fluently and productively. You should also be able to produce sheet music of your work and have a decent understanding of music theory. We can give you an opinion on your work before you apply - so get in touch!
